Exposing The
Jezebel Spirit
1 Kings 16:30 says,
"In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years. Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the eyes of the LORD than any of those before him.He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him. He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he built in Samaria.
Ahab also made an Asherah pole and did more to arouse the anger of the LORD, the God of Israel, than did all the kings of Israel before him.In Ahab's time, Hiel of Bethel
rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son
Abiram, and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, in
accordance with the word of the LORD spoken by Joshua son of Nun.
This is the Genesis of Jezebel coming on the scene. Here we learn that she married Ahab and they began to worship Baal. And the marriage between Ahab and Jezebel was a marriage made in Hell. This marriage took the evil of Ahab to a whole new level. It is important for you to know what it means to worship Baal. The altar to Baal was designed for fire and human sacrifice. Baal worship was rooted in sensuality. It involved prostitution and open sexuality in the temple. At times it involved human sacrifice and it was actually required and it was usually the first born of the priest who was performing the sacrifice. The act of sacrificing the child was performed along with catabolism. The act of catabolism can be trace back to Baal. Their priest would cry out to Baal and often self mutilate himself.
The Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor. 10:18-20,
"Think about the people of
Israel. Weren't they united by eating the sacrifices at the altar? Do I mean then that food sacrificed to an idol is anything, or
that an idol is anything? No, but the sacrifices of
pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be
participants with demons."
Can you see how this description matches the world we live in today? This kind of devil worship is going on today. Sensuality, Prostitution, open sexuality (consider the halftime show at the Super Bowl), HUMAN SACRIFICE. You may say, "Well, We don't sacrifice humans today!" Maybe you should turn your TV on and tune in the News channels. The governor of Virginia said mother's can give birth to a baby and she and the doctor can decided if the baby is to live or not.
Do you not know that baby's parts are sold around the world. If you do not you are living under a rock and blind. You say, "David, How do you know that." Turn your TV on! Look at all the abortion clinics that are in the USA.
If you are to expose the Jezebel spirit, you have to understand who she worships with and where she goes to church. You have to understand what drives her. Everyone of you are driven by something. There is something that motivates you. For many people it is just Jesus. You talk about Jesus and they are all ears and no matter where the conversation goes they will talk about Him.
Other people are driven by a lot of things but if you know what drives them you will know who they worship. If gossip is what drives somebody, you know what they're worshipping. If politics is what drives somebody, you know what they're worshipping. If hatred is what drives someone, you know what they're worshipping.
Jezebel was dedicated to the worship of Baal and the worship of Baal is nothing more than devil worship. People worship things all the time that is not of God. Jesus did not tell us that we couldn't seek other things but He told us to seek the Kingdom of God first. Matt. 6:33
In 1 Kings 19:1-5 (NIV) is where Elijah had killed 850 of Baal's prophets.
"And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time."
(Doesn't that sound a lot like the threat that the minority
leader of the United States Senate, Chuck Shumer, made to two of the Supreme Court judges this
week? The Democrat's Senate minority leader stirred up the mob outside the Supreme Court, unabashedly threatening Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh:
"I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh."You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price,
" Schumer said. "You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.") The spirit of Jezebel is always making threats!
Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to
Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while
he himself went a days journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush,
sat down under it and prayed that he might die. "I have had enough, LORD," he
said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors." Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once
an angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat."
He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over
hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him
and said, "Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you." So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he
traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of
God. There he went into a cave and spent the
night. And the word of the LORD came to him:"What are you doing here, Elijah?"
He
replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites
have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to
death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill
me too."
The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the
presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and
powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD,
but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but
the LORD was not in the earthquake. After
the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the
fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and
went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, "What
are you doing here, Elijah?"
If you want to know how powerful the
spirit of Jezebel is, here the prophet of God, Elijah, a man of God, ran from
her and even cried out for God to take his life. If you mean nothing to the
Kingdom of God she won't be interested in you but if you mean anything to the
Kingdom of God, she will chase you down and try her best to destroy you.
However, you have nothing to fear if you know who it is you are serving and you
believe what John said in 1 John 4:4,
"You are of God, little children, and have
overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the
world."
However,
this spirit will come after you and harass you until you take authority over
her.
I want to give you two major effects
of the Jezebel spirit.
1. The Jezebel spirit will cause you to get into Idol worship! 1
Kings 16:32,
"And
he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of
Baal, which he had built in Samaria."
She will entice you away from
worshiping the creator and cause you to worship the created.
The Jezebel spirit will cause you to
worship what she can give you. This spirit works in both men and women. In men
it's usually an Absalom spirit, but a Jezebel spirit will seduce you to worship
the pastor more than you worship God. I have been in churches where this is
manifest. When a pastor will tell you how good God is and then for the next 40
minutes tell you how good he is and before long you are applauding him and
patting him on the back and forgetting about the God that gave him everything
he has.
People seek approval and praise and this spirit will feed them.
This is why if you are called to be in the five fold ministry, you must learn
humility or this spirit will eat your lunch.
There are Jezebel's in the church. They want you to listen to
how well they can sing. If someone else sings they will tell you that they can
sing better than that. They can preach better than that. It's always about
them. All they can do is to look at themselves and see how pretty they are and
nice clothes they are wearing and what a fine car they have. They will have
their own little circle of worshippers who sing their praises and lifts them up
and the next thing you know they are causing division in the church.
2. She will cause you to Fear 1 Kings 19:3,
"Elijah was afraid and ran
for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,"
The Jezebel spirit wants to
intimidate you and defame you. I can't think of a better example of the
activity of this spirit than what we have observed that has taken place since
our President, Donald Trump, declared he was going to run for President of The
United States. This Jezebel spirit has come out of hiding and is possessing
most of the Democratic Party, especially, it's leaders.
This spirit has, in an attempt to cause our president to fear,
used intimidation, by threatening, by lying, by twisting his words, by making
up false accusations, by attacking those he has appointed to office, by smear
tactics, by blackmail, by attacking his family and etc. This spirit and those
she controls will not stop short of doing anything they think might put Trump
out of office and just not out of office but fix it so he may never hold any office again.
Truth means nothing to the Jezebel spirit. She is one of
Satin's chief spirits. Jesus said in John 8:24,
"You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to
carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not
holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his
native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
"God has not given us the spirit of fear; but
of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
The signs of the times are all around
us and if we are not alert we will not realize what is happening in our world.
Evil is coming out of the woodwork and openly revealing itself. No longer can
we passively sit by and say nothing. We have been given the authority over this
evil but we are going to have to open our mouth and by faith declare the Word
of God and take authority over this evil. Unfortunately most of the church has
not been instructed how to call things that be not as though they are. (Rom.
4:17)
Jesus said
in Mark 11:23-24,
"Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say
to you, whoever says to
this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he
says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you
receive them, and you will have them."

My prayer for you today is that the Lord will give you discernment about the
spirits that are attempting to gain control of our great country and the
consequences to our freedom if they succeed.
